In addition to dental checkups and exams, brushing your teeth helps maintain overall dental health. If you are having problems motivating your child to brush, you may want to consider finding more kid friendly gadgets that can make brushing fun. Mashable listed a handful of products that received rave reviews from parents of toddlers, so we thought we would share our favorites with you.

Spinbrush Tooth Tunes made by Arm & Hammer plays two minutes of your kids favorite music like “We will Rock You”  by Queen,” I Got a Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas and ” Round and Round “ by Selena Gomez. You can encourage your kids to keep brushing until the music stops, which helps teach them that the best way to brush properly is to keep brushing for two full minutes.

The GUM brand Crayola Timer Light Toothbrush has a fun suction cup on the bottom so kids can stick it on their counter! This handy toothbrush flashes a light for two minutes to give kids a visual to keep on brushing until the light stops blinking, again reinforcing brushing for a specific period of time. GUM also makes a Star Wars Power Toothbrush, so your kids can act like a Jedi and keep their teeth clean!

If it’s your teenager who isn’t brushing well, have them download the Brush DJ App – which will play music for a set period of time to remind them to keep on brushing. This app can remind you of dentist appointments, when it’s time to change your toothbrush and it will even remind you to floss and use mouthwash.

Some kids don’t like to power of a regular Sonicare toothbrush, so Sonicare came out with the HX6311 toothbrush for kids. This kid friendly version has great features that kids will love while parents will love the great brushing results received from Sonicare products.

If you are still a kid at heart, you will love the friendly reminder that comes from the Tooth Timer, a tooth shaped timer that counts down a full two minutes, which is how long the American Dental Association recommends from effective brushing. Kids of all ages, even your parents can use the Tooth Timer to help encourage proper brushing times.
